World Animal Day observed on October 4World Animal Day was observed on 4 October 2014 across the world.  World Animal Lover Day is observed to pay tribute to all animals and people who loves animal and respect them.

World Animal Day was started in 1931 at a convention of ecologists in Florence, Italy as a way of highlighting the plight of endangered species. 4 October was chosen as a day as it is the Feast Day of St Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of animals.

The World Animal Day is observed with an aim to improve animal welfare standards across the world through support and involvement of individuals, groups and organisations that care about animals.

The day is unique in itself as its celebration unites the animal welfare movement around the world, embracing all animals and the unique concerns of each and every country.
