Around 1079 posts will be filled under several departments in Indian Civil Services where the aspirants will be recruited as IAS, IPS, IFS, Group A and Group B Services. The link for applying online is live and the aspirants can fill from 27th April 2016 to 27th May 2016. The online link for application is www.upsconline.nic.in.
Aspirants are supposed to make sure that they fulfill the eligibility conditions for appearing in the UPSC examination. The admission to all three stages of the UPSC / Civil Services Examination will be conditional with respect to sustaining the approved eligibility criteria.
The aspirant appearing for the exam must carry a degree from any Universities assimilated by act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other educational organizations recognized by an act of Parliament or stated as deemed as University under section-3 of the UGC (University Grants Commission) Act, 1956 or should hold equal qualification. There will be negative marking for each wrong answer attempted by the aspirant in the Objective or Multiple Choice Question Papers.
The number of attempts are decided as per the community category which the candidate belongs to, like a general category candidate is eligible for six attempts, an aspirant belonging to other backward community category will be eligible for nine attempts, while an aspirant belonging to Scheduled Cast / Scheduled Tribe will have no restrictions for number of attempts.
The aspirants will be selected by the UPSC commission for the UPSC / Civil Services (Mains) Examination as per the minimum marks scored in General Studies Paper II, i.e. 33% and the marks required to qualify for the UPSC / Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination Paper I as stated by the commission. Also the aspirants are allowed the attempt the examination either in English or any one language listed in the Eight Schedule languages.
