Prime Minister Narendra Modi today paid tributes to Gujarati poet, playwright and social reformer Narmadashankar Dave ‘Narmad’ on his 187th birth anniversary.
In a tweet, Mr Modi said, he was a visionary creator, philosopher, pioneer of social justice and a proud poet. He said, the poet who is considered to be the founder of modern Gujarati literature, introduced his fearlessness and creativity through a magazine called ‘Dandio’.
Mr Modi also greeted people on World Gujarati Language Day. In a tweet, Mr Modi called upon Gujaratis to make Gujaratiness meaningful with its values, identity and sensitivity.
