Shakib Al Hasan, who was recently banned from international cricket by ICC, doesn’t find a place in the latest T20I rankings released by the governing body on Monday.
Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan, who is currently serving an ICC imposed year-long-ban from cricket, didn’t find a place in the latest T20I rankings released by the world body on Monday. Shakib was ranked 2nd on the all-rounders’ list before he was banned last month by ICC for failure to report corrupt approaches from a bookie.
Shakib was also ranked 9th in the T20I bowling charts and 32nd on the batting list. But in the updated rankings released by ICC on Monday after the conclusion of the 3-match series between India and Bangladesh, Shakib’s name has been dropped altogether from the T20I lists. Interestingly, Shakib is still placed 3rd in the world in Tests and top-ranked in ODIs amongst all-rounders in the world. However, it shouldn’t be a surprise if he is dropped from the longer version lists too once those lists are updated by the ICC.
In Shakib’s absence, Afghanistan’s Mohammad Nabi has climbed on to the top-spot among T20I all-rounders with Glenn Maxwell following him closely at the 2nd spot. Current Bangladesh captain Mahmudullah Riyad is now the country’s highest-ranked all-rounder in the world, sitting pretty at the 4th spot.
