National Institute of Solar Energy (NISE), an autonomous institution of Ministry of New and Renewable (MNRE) signed an agreement with United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) to initiate a skill development programme for different levels of beneficiaries in solar thermal energy sector.
Key Highlights of Agreement
NISE and UNIDO will engage national and international experts to bring best practices by developing specialized training material.
This agreement is part of ongoing MNRE-GEF-UNIDO project (Ministry of New and Renewable Energy – Global Environment Friendly – United Nations Industrial Development Organization) which is jointly implemented by UNIDO.
It is to support capacity building and skill development of technical manpower in Concentrated Solar-Thermal Energy Technologies (CST) which are being used to replace conventional fossil fuels such as diesel, coal, furnace oil etc. and save costs and emissions in industrial process heat applications.
