National Institutional Ranking Framework 2019 released

Ministry of Human Resource Development has released the National Institutional Ranking Framework 2019,

According to the report, The Indian Institute of Technology-Madras (IIT-Madras) beat Indian Institute of Science (IISc) to grab the top spot in the latest edition of National Institute Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2019. IIT-Madras has been ranked as the top institute in the overall category, followed by IISc in the second position. The NIRF is a Ministry of HRD initiative and released annually. In a statement, Bhaskar Ramamurthi, Director, IIT Madras said, ‘We are delighted that our efforts to constantly improve our course programmes, research, and industry collaboration, as well the creation of a world-class innovation ecosystem in India’s first-of-its-kind Research Park at IIT Madras, are being recognized. We will continue to strive to excel in all these spheres.’ On the other hand, Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Bangalore secured the top spot in the management college ranking followed by IIM Ahmedabad and IIM Calcutta. IIM Lucknow and Indore stood at fourth and fifth ranks.
