Kiki Bertens wins Womens Singles Title in Madrid Open tennis

Kiki Bertens of Netherlands beat Simona Halep of Romania in straight sets on Saturday to win the biggest singles title of her career at the 2019 Madrid Open tennis.

Kiki Bertens came out victorious with a surprise 6-4. 6-4 win over simona Halep making her the first women ever to win Madrid singles title championship.
She became the first highest ranked Dutchwoman by climbing to number 4.

A victroy would have allowed the third ranked Simona Halep to regain her number one ranking displacing Naomi Osaka but instead Kiki Bertens made history with her improved serve, defemse and variety.

Madrid Open Tennis is a joint Men’s and women’s professional tennis tournament, held in Madrid,Spain.
