India brought a total of 69 medals – 15 gold, 24 silver and 30 bronze from the Asian Games 2018 in Indonesia .
This medal tally was bigger than the medal count from 2010 Games in Guangzhou, China.
The 2018 Asian Games is the 18th edition of the continental Games. It is the first time that the sporting extravaganza is being co-hosted by two cities. Jakarta and Palembang are the two Indonesian cities that are hosting the Games. This edition will be held from 18th August to 2nd September 2018 and will see around 10,000 athletes from 45 countries competing in 58 disciplines. Indonesia is hosting the Asian Games for the second time after the Jakarta Asian Games in 1962
Apart from this, it was also India’s best ever overall medal tally, equalling country’s joint-best effort at the Asian Games since the inaugural edition in 1951. The total of 24 silver medals is also the highest ever in Asiad history for India.
