Govt launches Allied and healthcare professional database portal

Aiming to gather a huge database of allied and health workers in the country, Union Health Ministry has launched a web portal.
Speaking at the launch of the portal, Union Health Secretary Preeti Sudan said,’ India has a unique demographic ratio, where 65 percent of the youth are below the age of 35 years. With the database, the government is planning to offer a strong foundation for the youth’.
Pointing out the need for such a portal, she said, ‘India is facing the new burden with the increasing lifestyle related diseases and ailments. In order to handle the enormous load, the government needs better frameworks to solve the problems, there by health ministry is creating the database of health workers’
Allied and healthcare professionals can register personal qualification and their professional information. Further, the site will provide an enrolment reference number for the professionals. Besides, enrolment, the health ministry will also expand the services like licensing, maintaining an appropriate standard of educational and clinical procedures.
