Govt announces beneficiary scheme for Adolescent Girls

Union Ministry of Women and Child Development (WCD) has launched a new beneficiary module (Phase – one) of Rapid Reporting System (RRS) for young girls.

Aiming to improve fast flow of information to adolescent girls, this web portal will provide the service of monitoring for Adolescent Girls (SAG) and take corrective measures not just faster flow of information, but reduction of leakages.
According to an official release, web portal has been developed by Ministry of WCD in collaboration with National Informatics Centre (NIC). The main motive of the scheme is to provide them nutritional support, motivating out of school girls to go back to formal schooling or skill training under its non-nutrition component. Apart from this, it also provides nutritional support and girls are also equipped with information on health, hygiene and guidance on existing public services.
The Scheme for Adolescent Girls (SAG) is implemented by using platform of Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) Scheme. Besides, Anganwadi Centres (AWCs) are the focal point for delivery of services, which will implemented across 508 districts in the country.
