The Congress managed to secure a clear majority in Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh while wresting power from BJP in Madhya Pradesh too. In Telangana, the TRS led by K Chandrashekar Rao stormed back to power while in Mizoram, the MNF came back to power after two terms of Congress rule.
In Chhattisgarh, the Congress has managed to get 68 seats, while BJP got 15 seats out of the 90 seats. In Madhya Pradesh, the Congress got 115 seats, while BJP got around 108 seats out of the 230 seats. In Rajasthan, Congress once again managed to garner 99 seats, while the BJP could get only 73 seats out of the 200 seats. In Telangana, TRS got 88 seats out of the 119 seats declared.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday congratulated Congress for victory in three states and said that BJP accepts the mandate of people with humility.
