Union Public Service Commission on yesterday released the final result of Civil Services Exam 2017. Hyderabad candidate Anudeep Durishetty topped the list. Anu Kumari secured the second rank, while Sachin Gupta occupied the third spot.
Anudeep (Indian Revenue Services officer- 2013 batch), hailing from Metpally of Jagityal district, is the son of Durishetty Manohar, an additional assistant engineer, and Durishetty Jyothy, a homemaker. The family currently resides in Adarsh Nagar of Metpally. Anudeep is posted with the Customs and Central Excise. Anudeep was awarded the best officer trainee in the IRS batch during the weapons training programme at NISA Hyderabad. His interest lies in football and Artificial Intelligence.
Haryana’s Anu Kumari, a mother of a four-year-old, topped the coveted examination among women. Kumari had graduated with BSc (Hons) in Physics from the Delhi University, and then went on to complete an MBA (Finance and Marketing) degree from IMT, Nagpur.
Looking at the top 25 candidates, 17 were men and 8 were women. In terms of educational qualification among the top 25 candidates are from Engineering, law , Sciences, Management, Medical and Commerce background graduating from top Institutions of country.
Anthropology, Commerce & Accountancy, Economics, Geography, Law, Maths, Physics, Political Science & International Relations, Sociology, and Malayalam Literature were the optional subjects of the top 25 candidates in the examination.
The recommended candidates include 29 physically challenged persons (9 Orthopedically Handicapped; 8 Visually Challenged and 12 Hearing Impaired). Saumya Sharma, a physically challenged person with hearing impairment, has secured an overall 9th tank.
