“So far, about 26.7 per cent of 88,201 taxpayers, who are registered with central excise and service tax have migrated to GSTN,” said Central Excise (Service Tax) Chief Commissioner R.K. Sharma.
At present, the dateline for migration for registration in GSTN is March 31.
“The dateline is expected to be extended,” Sharma said on the sidelines of a GST awareness programme here.
Kolkata Service Tax Commissioner S.K. Panda, however, said the taxpayers also registered with state have listed through their network.
“Some 85 per cent of the taxpayers registered with the state government has already migrated to GST. So, by default many of our taxpayers have migrated but not yet captured in our own system,” Panda said, adding that they would review the migration data after March 31.
