Veteran Hindi film actor Shashi Kapoor passed away on Monday after a prolonged illness. The actor-producer took his last breath at the Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Mumbai. He was 79 and was survived by his daughter Sanjana, and sons Kunal and Karan.
Speaking to a news agency, Actor’s nephew Randhir Kapoor said, ‘Yes, he has passed away. He had a kidney problem and was on dialysis for several years and the funeral would be held tomorrow today’.
‘Shashi Kapoor expired at 5.20pm on December 4 at Kokilaben Hospital in Mumbai,’ Dr Ram Narain from the hospital told PTI. President Ram Nath Kovind and Prime Minister Narendra Modi condoled the death of the popular actor.
