Supreme Court Convicts V. K Sasikala in DA case, sentences AIADMK gen secy to 4-year jail term

New Delhi Feb 14: A two-judge bench has convicted AIADMK interim General Secretary VK Sasikala in the 20-year-old corruption case.

The embattled leader has been sentenced to 4 years in prison and has been told to surrender immediately.

After the current ruling of the Apex Court, V.K Sasikala will not be able to contest any election for the next ten years.

The Supreme Court bench has ordered the acting general secretary of the AIADMK party V.K Sashikala has to pay a fine of Rs 10 crore.

The judgment in the two-decade-old corruption case was pronounced by a bench of Justice Pinaki Chandra Ghose and Justice Amitava Roy in the Court Room 6 of the Supreme Court.

The two-judge bench which is known as a Division Bench was unanimous in their judgment and both the judges who wrote the judgment were unanimous about the conviction.
