India was ranked as the 62nd place among growing emerging economies on an Inclusive Development Index, much below neighbouring China (26) and Pakistan (47).

According to the report released by World Economic Forum, Norway bagged the top position as the world’s most inclusive advanced economy, while Lithuania again tops the list of emerging economies.
The index measures various factors like standard of living, environmental sustainability and protection of future generations from further indebtedness’.
WEF urged the global leaders to urgently move to a new model of inclusive growth and development, saying reliance on GDP as a measure of economic achievement is fuelling short-termism and inequality.

It should be noted that the 2017 index, which measure the development of 100 economics, ranked 60th among 79 developing economies.
