Gujarat Govt. Offers Scholarships for IAS aspirants
The Gujarat government has proposed a new scheme to provide assistance of up to Rs 20,000 per student to approved institutes. The financial assistance is meant to help underprivileged students pursue higher studies.
The government also proposes to provide Rs 50,000 to every candidate who successfully clears the prelims exam for civil services conducted by the UPSC. Another sum of Rs 25,000 has been earmarked for those candidates who clear the main examination of UPSC.
For girls who clear the preliminary or main examination and hail from a modest financial back ground—family has an annual income of less than Rs 6 lakh — they shall be given financial assistance of Rs 60,000 and Rs. 30,000 respectively.
